4 popular aromatherapy oils to reduce stress

But thanks to aromatherapy, you can release tension and feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Aromatherapy oils, also known as essential oils are extracted from plants and are bestowed with healing properties. The following essential oils are stress busters that help in eliminating the constant worries from your life for good. Great news is that such oils are widely available in the traditional and online market. However, beware of fake products. Always look for genuine and pure essential oils.

Lavender

This is one of the most widely used stress-relieving essential oils across the world.  It is an evergreen woody shrub that grows in the Mediterranean region. However, France is the main producer of lavender. The aroma is simply fantastic.It consists of a number of therapeutic properties that include antidepressant, sedative, antiseptic, decongestant, diuretic, anti-inflammatory and deodorant.Add a few drops of lavender oil to the water before bath to feel stress-free all day long.

Bergamot

This citrus flavored aromatherapy oil is extracted from Citrus Beragamia tree. It is a native of Southeast Asia and can also be found in Italy. It is often blended with massage lubricants to eliminate stress in a serene way. It has healing powers to cure depression, anorexia and anxiety. You can also apply the oil to treat skin infections such as eczema and psoriasis. For better results, mix it well with some massage oil and apply it in your body or/and head. Do store the oil in a cool dark place and remember to stay away from the sun while applying the oil.

Cedarwood

This is one of the oldest essential oils to be extracted and have been in use since ancient times. It is a Junuperus Virginia tree extract,and the tree is found extensively in North America.This oil functions to reduce anxiety and stress and hence, it is also referred to as the ?calming agent?. Blend cedarwood oil with facial creams to relieve tension. Within few minutes, you will experience comforting and relaxed atmosphere. It is strictly prohibited to use this oil during pregnancy. Also, if you experience irritation in the skin, stop applying it.

Ylang-Ylang

It has a sweet fragrance capable of decreasing stress and nervous tension. It is a native of Philippines and is grown in a number of other regions that include Polynesia, Micronesia, Comoros Islands and Melanesia.Add a few drops of this oil to your pillow every night to get great sleep. You will wake up fresh and energized the next morning.
