Sunburn is caused due to overexposure to the rays of the sun that appears after few hours of exposure to the sun. It can last for several days and sometimes even a month. Inflammation and red spots are often caused due to sunburn.

Sunburn is a serious skin issue that requires a feasible and effective solution capable of penetrating through many layers of your skin hence, aiding to cure the problem with no side effects whatsoever. It is to be remembered that this skin issue can?t be dealt with sunscreen or some creams.

Majority of the people use ice cubes to ease the redness caused by sunburn but, this needs to stop at once. Skin experts have said that applying ice on sunburns can lead to varied kinds of skin damages.

Ayurveda to the rescue


This stimulating summer fruit has countless advantages.Consumption of watermelon has proved to be helpful in managing overall health. And now, you need to keep the watermelon rind once you cut it.

You need to scrub your skin with the fleshy portion of the fruit rind. This helps in calming the skin while toning down redness as well as itchiness caused due to sunburns.

Coconut oil

It is blessed with natural skin protection properties. Simply put coconut oil to your skin each day for soothing the surface of your skin. This also helps in preventing skin rashes and blisters.

Aloe vera

This calming plant consists of a number of advantages. It generates best results when used in its pure form. Simply take some aloe vera gel and rub it onto the affected area for some time, allowing the soothing gel to be fully absorbed within the skin. Do this twice a day for 10 to 15 days for best results.

Sandalwood and turmeric

Sandalwood consists of natural and essential oils that assist in clearing the skin and allowing it to shine all the way. Additionally, turmeric is blessed with healing and anti-inflammatory properties. You need to take same amount of turmeric and sandalwood and mix them in rose water. Form a thick paste and apply it to the affected areas of the skin. This helps to cool your skin and also reduces redness.

Cucumber and lemon juice

Cucumber has cooling properties that are useful in reduction of redness and pain associated with sunburns. Take a small sized cucumber and crush it into the form of a thick paste and then add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice before applying it. Let the cucumber paste stay in the face for about 15 minutes and then wash it gently with cold water.
