The investigators examined 76 cases concerning stomach cancer. The studies contained about 6.3 million individuals and almost 33,000 deaths caused due to stomach cancer.

It was found that for every hundred grams of white fruit eaten on daily basis the risk of developing gastric cancer decreased by 5%. Eating two potatoes daily which are encumbered with vitamin C decreased the risk by 8%.

As against this, it was seen that salt augmented the risk of gastric cancer by 12% along with pricked vegetables. Though it was seen that alcohol increased the risk of stomach cancer, wine had no ill-effects on stomach cancer.

The researchers said that the study gives complete and sturdy proof that there are several defensive and risk factors for stomach cancer as far as diet is concerned.
