The secret to weight loss lies in your gut. If the digestive system remains healthy, it will be easy to lose weight. Triphala is an effective ayurvedic medicine that keeps the stomach, small intestine, and large intestine healthy by flushing out toxins. Triphala also helps to boost metabolism, improve immunity, lower cholesterol, and prevent microbial infections.
Triphala helps in digestion. It eliminates toxins and helps the body’s regulatory system to function properly. It helps retain the fluids in the body at their normal levels, and helps to reduce weight.
Triphala or triphala churna consists of equal quantities of three fruits—amla, baheda and harad. Each of the ingredients corresponds to three different bodily doshas-vata, pitta, and kapha. Amla is rich in antioxidants and helps to cleanse the body of toxins. It helps regulate the health of the pancreas, manage the cholesterol levels, and increase the bone density. Harada has body purifying effects, baheda is known for removing kapha imbalances. It helps regulate blood cholesterol levels and gives healthy plasma, muscle, and bones.
Mix 2 tsp of triphala churna in a glass of water. Let it soak overnight. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach.
Trikatu is made of equal parts of black pepper, long pepper and dried ginger. These herbs work in synergy to stimulate the digestive fire, or agni, allowing for more efficient digestion in the stomach while promoting proper bile flow, healthy detoxification and fat metabolism. The gentle heating action of this blend helps to digest food, absorb nutrients and efficiently remove wastes. Since it has hot ingredients, it works well to improve your metabolism. Trikatu also helps you deal with cholesterol issues, heart conditions and problems related to the digestive system. Mix 2 tsp of trikatu churna in a glass of water and let it soak overnight. You can add honey to this if the trikatu churna is too spicy for you. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach.
